The U.S. Treasury Department announced sanctions on Tuesday against 35 entities and vessels it says have shipped petroleum to Iran.
“Iran continues to funnel revenues from its petroleum trade toward the development of its nuclear program; proliferation of its ballistic missile and unmanned aerial vehicle technology; and sponsorship of its regional terrorist proxies, risking further destabilizing the region,” stated Bradley Smith, acting under secretary for terrorism and financial intelligence.
He said Washington “remains committed to disrupting the shadow fleet of vessels and operators that facilitate these illicit activities, using the full range of our tools and authorities.”
Treasury named a total of 19 ships in violation of sanctions that the department confirms “have collectively shipped tens of millions of barrels of oil for Iran.”
Treasury also identified the companies owning, managing or operating said vessels: Galileos Marine Services LLC; Ocean Glory Giant OGG SA; Vision Ship Management LLP; Lufindo Holding Limited; Shanghai Legendary Ship Management Company Limited; and Inaya Ship Management Private Limited.
