Social networking sites, professional personal ad writers and dating coaches can all help you meet someone special. But people need to know what to do when they finally get that first date. A new Web site, DatingtoRelating.com, is doing just that. With over 500,000 visitors a month, Dating to Relating is quickly becoming the standard in Internet dating advice. While other Web sites, such as David DeAngleo’s DoubleYourDating.com and Neil Strauss’s StyleLife.com and TheMysteryMethod.com have seen their traffic decline over the past year, Dating to Relating has only seen its traffic increase, according to Alexa.com Web traffic statistics. “They [love gurus] only tell you how to meet and attract women,” writes the anonymous Mr. L Rx on the popular Web site. “They don’t tell you how to relate [to] and keep them.” Of course, Mr. L Rx makes sure to advise men on both how to meet women, and how to create and maintain relationships in his new book, “Dating to Relating -; From A to Z,” which is available in both print and Kindle editions at Amazon.com. For men with first-date jitters here are some tips from Mr. L. Rx and Dating to Relating.com. – Try to be interested instead of interesting. Being interesting leads to a lot of rejection and platonic friendships. Girls will be friends with a guy who is really interesting. But they want to date a guy who is interested in them. – Don’t put too much conversation attention on sex, sexual topics, sexual innuendos and her looks. Girls wouldn’t even be on the first date if they weren’t vaguely OK with the concept. What she really wants to know is: What else do you want? What else do you like about her? What else can you do for her? What else do you have in common with her? How else can you have fun together? – If you want to get a second date you have to create both sexual attraction and non-sexual attraction on that first date. Sexual attraction is created by such things as posture and attitude and other non-verbal motions and communications. Non-sexual attraction is created by listening to what the girl has to say, being truthful about who you are and finding and creating mutual interests that you can pursue together in the future. Dating is never easy. Never mind first impressions and the getting-to-know-you awkwardness, the Internet has created a world where every foible, every flaw, every little thing (both literally and figuratively) is on display for the all the world, including potential dating partners, to see.
“Surviving any worst-case scenario comes down to not panicking, having a plan, and ultimately being prepared,” David Borgenicht, author of The Complete Worst-Case Scenario Survival Handbook: Dating & Sex, told the Chicago Tribune in an interview. “And this applies to the realm of dating.”
Dating has never been easy, but it only gets more difficult with age. Never mind the whole getting-to-now-you thing, the Internet has created a world where every foible, every flaw, every thing (literally and figuratively) is on display for the world to nitpick, including potential dating partners, to see.
“Surviving any worst-case scenario comes down to not panicking, having a plan and ultimately being prepared,” David Borgenicht, author of The Complete Worst-Case Scenario Survival Handbook: Dating & Sex, told the Chicago Tribune in an interview. “And this applies to the realm of dating.”
That is why you need to be prepared for any dating scene so you don’t find yourself wondering whether leaving by the bathroom window is actually an option.
The following tips will help you avoid the potential pitfalls of dating.
* You’re running late. It happens — traffic, work runs over, mistiming on how long it takes to get ready — and all of a sudden you’ve kept your date waiting. In this case, take a few minutes to send a text message or a quick call and let them know you’ve run into a snag, but will be there as soon as possible. Better yet, giving them a timeframe. One caveat: try to keep it light. If you sound stressed about being late, they’ll be stressed about waiting.* You spill wine all over the table, on yourself, or on your date. At best, you and your date can laugh it off. And if you like one another, it’s an easy way to ask them out for a second one –to a dry cleaners, where you’ll foot the bill. At worst, if the sparks aren’t there, you have an easy out. * You’re a smokeless tobacco user. For smokeless tobacco users, the thought of taking a spit cup or bottle on a date is horrific, and of course, an absolute no-no. So, what to do? You might want to consider a portable spittoon made by FLASR, an Atlanta-based company that specializes in creating smokeless tobacco accessories.
“138!” I couldn’t believe the glucose level had plummeted from a previous high just a few hours before. The experience of hearing that pleasing information transformed my mood.
Today was going to be great. And, it turned out that way. Time passed, this morning I did yet another mundane blood test, the results were definitely not pleasing. My mindset determined that things were not going right for me at that moment, I felt defeated. Then, my emotions plummeted into the depths of despair. However, being the eternal optimist, I crawled out of this self-made mesh of misery. The question on my lips was why should my life be governed by ever changing numerals, to the point of reaching peaks of joy or wallowing in depression?
I decided to investigate this problem by starting with a Google search. I entered ‘why numbers can make you feel happy or sad’ and curiously anticipated what the great Internet of universal wisdom would offer me? I’ve been told so many times that whatever is read on the net has to be meaningful, so I patiently waited for the results. For those of you interested in doing the math, there were 371 million answers given in exactly 0.53 seconds. Amazing! As patience is one virtue I’ve never been able to wait for, I skimmed through the first page. Trusting Google algorithms, which would kindly give me the best results on the first page, I mulled over the new information.
The first entry would have been interesting if I was a mathematician, which I’m not.
‘Here, the number 36 loops endlessly in a cycle which doesn’t end in 1. Therefore 36 is an unhappy or sad number.‘
In silver position just below, I was given an alternative answer.
‘Consider the number 13, which is happy. Consider the number 1111111111111 will transform to it, and hence be happy. If you take away k2 of the ones and …’
I declined to follow the three trailing dots and open that particular webpage. A quick glance at further entries offered me many other numbers that could make me happy or sad. But, that wasn’t the object of my enquiry. I simply wanted to know why numbers themselves could affect one’s emotional equilibrium? Not wishing to search through the other 371 million entries, less those first two, I decided to write this article instead. Maybe actual people could have a better idea? Yes, that does sound far fetched, but we still exist, despite the supremacy of the Internet in our lives.
Seriously, I’m sure everyone experiences vast mood shifts caused by particular numbers. Anything from a lotto ticket or its incredible pay out figure, medical results, dreaded bills, an much more, all have the power to instantly transform our emotional grip on reality.
At the time of writing this article, I’m keeping an eye on the time. If I don’t get my morning cup of tea, with a dash of milk, then that will really put me in a negative mood. Hey, now that’s a discovery right there. A simple beverage can affect my feelings of well being, and there is no number involved.
Whoops, I spoke too soon.
My wife reminded me of the amount of calories in the mandatory biscuit that accompanies my favorite morning drink. And, those calories have a knock on affect on my weight, which can play havoc with my metabolism, which helps control my glucose level by some mysterious process that I’m sure is now subject to total confusion in my swamped brain.
Well, I will reconsider number 13 as being a happy number, and try not to let the remainder of my day be governed by the latest blood test results. Happy 13 everyone!

No one disputes the fact that America has a unique history during which it became, and continues to be a preeminent feature in global affairs. Recent wars are but one example. In a quarter of a millennium it has become a nation unlike any other nation in the history of the world. In some respects, it rivals nations with much longer histories. Yet the Bible is remarkably silent when speaking about the role of America in Bible prophecy. Dr. Tim LaHaye writes,
“One of the hardest things for American prophecy students to accept is that the United States is not clearly mentioned in Bible prophecy, yet our nation is the only superpower in the world today.”
Dr. LaHaye has put his finger upon the source that likely generates the often ask question, “How does America fit into Bible prophecy?” Rarely, if ever, does anyone ask, “How does Mexico, or Canada, or Chile fit into Bible prophecy?” The United States has a strong Christian heritage and is currently the world’s only superpower. Since many Christians believe that we are near the end of the age, it is hard to envision a prophetic scenario which excludes America—the world’s most influential nation. Yet, other nations are the focus of biblical prophecy.
AMERICA WILL BE INCLUDED WITH THE NATIONS
There are no specific references to the United States in Bible prophecy. However, there are biblical statements about what the nations in general will be doing during the end of days period. Passages like Haggai 2:6-7, Isaiah 66:18-20, and Zechariah 12:2-3 speak of all the nations involved in end-time events. These kinds of references clearly will include the United States in their fulfillment, but they do not teach us anything specifically about America in prophecy. Some have brought forth various biblical passages from which they theorize that America is included in a more specific way. I will now address the merits of some of these suggestions.
IS AMERICA REFERENCED IN EZEKIEL 38?
These two chapters refer to the Battle of Gog and Magog and speak of their invasion of Israel. Ezekiel says this will occur “in the latter years” (38:8) and “in the last days” (38:16). The invasion involves a coalition headed by “Gog of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal” (38:2). Magog has been identified as ancient terminology for the area including modern day Russia, The Ukraine, and Kazakhstan.
Ezekiel further identifies Magog as coming from “the remote parts of the north” (38:6). Gog will lead the invasion of Israel, but Ezekiel 38:5,6 says that other nations will join with him. Persia (Iran), Ethiopia or Cush (Sudan), Put (Libya), Gomer and Bethtogarmah (Turkey). All the allies of Magog are reasonably well identified and they are all presently Muslim. Interestingly, such an alignment of nations is already configured on the world scene in our own day. I believe the invasion will most likely take place before the tribulation officially begins, but after the rapture. Such a view would help to explain a vacuum on the world political scene at the beginning of the tribulations left by the removal of the influence of Russia and her Muslim allies, and possibly even the United States due to the conflict. This would then prepare the way for the Revived Roman Empire (Western Europe) and the Antichrist to sign the covenant with Israel (Daniel 9:2427).
Perhaps the strongest case for America in Bible prophecy can be made from a statement found in Ezekiel 38:13.
“Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all its villages, will say to you, ‘Have you come to capture spoil? Have you assembled your company to seize plunder, to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to capture great spoil?’” (Ezekiel 38:13)
It is argued that “the merchants of Tarshish, with all its villages,” refers to the colonies of Western Europe and the nations that have subsequently arisen from them. This would include North America and the United States. Thus, the response to the invasion of Magog into Israel from Sheba and Dedan and the merchants of Tarshish and its villages will be one of nonintervention. They will simply say, “Have you come to capture spoil?”
Who are Sheba and Dedan? “Sheba and Dedan are not difficult to identify. They are located in the modern country of Saudi Arabia.” Sheba and Dedan are said to be in alignment with “the merchants of Tarshish, with all its villages.”
The identity of “the merchants of Tarshish, with all its villages,” is the key phase for those who believe this to be a reference to America. What are the arguments for this interpretation?
First, merchants of Tarshish refer to the Phoenician maritime and trading community located in Spain during the general time of King Solomon, 3,000 years ago. Second, the merchants of Tarshish, during the last 500 years, developed into the modern mercantile nations of Western Europe like Spain, Holland, and Britain. Third, the phrase “with all its villages” or the variant rendering “with all its young lions,” would be a reference to its trans-Atlantic colonies, which would include America. Thus, it is reasoned, because America is the most dominant of these Western nations, this must be a reference to America.
This view is strongly espoused by Steuart McBirnie, who concluded:
In the light of such conclusive scholarship, coming to light most significantly at this time when the nations indicated by Ezekiel to be involved in a great Middle Eastern war, we can now say with definite assurance that the merchants of Tarshish and “the young lions (colonies) thereof” must include the Western nations of Europe and the Americans, particularly the United States.
David Allen Lewis agrees:
So the young lions of Tarshish would definitely refer to the North American colonies as well as the European colonies, and hence bring the U. S. into this prophecy as one of the nations that will strongly protest the Russian invasion of Israel in the last days. How valid is such an explanation of this passage? We will now examine the viability of the individual elements in this view and then assess the overall interpretation.
The Merchants of Tarshish
What does the phrase “the merchants of Tarshish” mean? Tarshish appears to be a wealthy trading community on the extremity of the Mediterranean world. “Tarshish is ancient Tartessus in the present-day nation of Spain. This view is supported by standard Hebrew language reference books..8 One work states:
We read often in the OT of “ships of Tarshish” which were large, oceangoing vessels (Ezk 27:25) that carried all sorts of precious cargo, especially metals such as silver and gold (I Kgs 10:22; 22:48; II Chr 9:21; Isa 60:9; Jer 10:9; Ezk 38:13) as well as iron, tin, and lead (Ezk 27:12). Harvard Professor, Barry Fell, has done extensive study on these matters and their relation to activities in pre-Columbus America. Dr. Fell says:
From the Bible we learn that the ships of Tarshish were the largest seagoing vessels known to the Semitic world, and the name was eventually applied to any large ocean-going vessel. . . . the ships of Tarshish became proverbial as an expression of sea power. . . .
it is not unlikely that the merchants of Tarshish may have been associated with the trans-Atlantic migration of the Celts who came to America. Indeed James Whittall, with whom I have discussed the decipherment of Tartessian inscriptions here in America, thinks that the American Celts were deliberately brought here by Phoenicians, who wanted mining communities to exploit American natural resources, and with whom they could then trade. If this hypothesis is correct, then Tartessian vessels would surely have played a major role in the Celtic migration to New England.
There does appear to be a significant basis to support the notion that the merchants of Tarshish are connected with the seafaring Phoenicians of 3,000 years ago. These merchants naturally established trading posts scattered along their various routes. Dr. McBirnie may well be right when he concludes:
Only in the past half-dozen years has much light been thrown on the historic location of ancient Tarshish. Books and articles in learned archaeological journals written before that time now seem to have rather limited value. In some instances, they are more confusing than helpful, despite the prestige of their authors. The reasons for certainty of identification are found in recent archaeological discoveries which confirm that ancient authorities were right all along in their identification of Tarshish as a Western European colonizing power based in Spain.
With All Its Villages
The other important phrase in this passage refers to the “villages” or “young lions” of Tarshish. First, is the Hebrew word kepire best translated into English as “villages” or “young lions?” There is no question that the Hebrew text favors a rendering of “young lions.” Some English translators were apparently influenced by early Greek and Syriac translations of the Hebrew which support the reading of “villages.” However, the original Hebrew is authoritative, not a translation, regardless of the age of other translations.
Young lions are often used as figures of energetic rulers. Such would most likely be the case if this translation were used in this text. “Villages” would certainly make sense in the geographical context of Sheba, Dedan, and Tarshish. Either rendering would fit. Again, perhaps it would be best to remain with the MT [Hebrew Masoretic Text] (a somewhat harder rendering, though sensible).
Mark Hitchcock says, “Young lions are often used in the Scripture to refer to energetic rulers. Therefore, the young lions who verbally oppose God’s invasion are strong military and political leaders who act with Tarshish.”
Although “young lions” is to be preferred, whether it is the villages that are protesting or their leaders—young lions—the point is the same. Dr. McBirnie summarizes the significance of this interpretation:
“Young lions” is, in the Hebrew, “whelps” or “cubs”; obviously offspring or colonies. The “Merchants of Tarshish” were definitely colonizers. This is the plain and logical meaning of the phrase Ezekiel used.
After all, what else could he say if the mysterious vision was for a future time? He must perforce have used the terms and names of his own day. He probably did not understand the full implication of what he wrote. But he surely would say that, long after his time, a new confederacy of power would arise from the Western Atlantic nations, whose armies, riches and power might also provide the means of a future role in the reservation of Israel.
CONCLUSION
I believe that if America is referenced in Bible prophecy, this passage is the best bet. However, this passage could include the entire Western Hemisphere. This does not mean that America will have become an insignificant nation during the tribulation. That may be true, but it also could be that she is somehow part of the Revived Roman Empire of the Antichrist, since our country originated as colony established by Europe.
In spite of the apparent biblical silence on this subject, it does not mean that America’s role in end-time prophecy is not clear, for it is very clear. The United States will be included in the prophetic destiny of the Gentile nations.
RESPONSE OF JEWISH TV CHANNEL
There exists a common belief in Judaism that America derives from the biblical character of Edom, the twin brother of Jacob. The legend suggests that Rome came from the legacy of Edom. It further postulates that America inherited the mantle of the Roman Empire. When considering the setup of the United States government with its House of Senators, this concept is not so far fetched.
Extending this argument further, one can draw on the ancient conflict between Rome and Persia. The current political stand off between the United States and Iran can be better understood in prophetic language when relating Rome to America, and Persia to present day Iran. Just a simple look at the respective values of each culture should reveal the nature of the conflict focused between spiritual and materialistic attitudes.
Accordingly, when viewed through such lens, one can raise the argument that while America can clearly be counted among the nations, it stands alone when regarded as inheriting the legacy of Jacob’s twin brother Edom. In Judaism, there are diverse prophesies concerning the fate of Edom in the end of days. However, when studying them caution is recommended to better understand the existence of a mutually beneficial relationship between the two, which also can be reflected in the fate of our future.
An unholy alliance is being quietly strengthened that has serious potential to threaten America’s interests closer to home than previously imagined.
The Jewish TV Channel reported that June 12, 2022 witnessed two seemingly separate events. The first was Argentina apparently confiscating an Iranian owned airplane connected with Venezuela. The second was the signing of a new pact between Iran and Venezuela.
Iran–Venezuela relations have strengthened substantially in recent years. “Iran and Venezuela are two friendly and united states which pave their ways to further progress and welfare for their nations”, according to President Rouhani. The two countries are contemporary strategic allies. This alliance initially gathered momentum during the regime of Chavez, the former president of Venezuela. In July 2006, Chávez paid a two-day visit to Iran when the government faced international criticism for continuing its nuclear program and backing Hezbollah guerrillas. In July 2006, Chávez pledged that Venezuela would “stay by Iran at any time and under any condition.”
Chavez said “We are with you and with Iran forever. As long as we remain united we will be able to defeat imperialism, but if we are divided they will push us aside.” In July 2006, Reuters reported that Chávez told a crowd at the University of Tehran, “If the U.S. succeeds in consolidating its dominance, then humankind has no future. Therefore, we have to save the humankind and put an end to the U.S.” The reports added that Chávez slashed out at Israel and labeled the 2006 Lebanon offensive as “fascist and terrorist.”
Recent Years
The pact survived the death of Chavez. In May 2020, Iran sent five oil tankers to Venezuela under sanctions of the U.S., because Venezuela’s oil refining industry collapsed because of under investment and mismanagement. They carried about 60 million gallons of Iranian gasoline. Because of U.S. sanctions against both countries, Presidents of both countries warned about U.S. attempts to block this fuel delivery. After these threats to disrupt Iranian fuel tankers heading for Venezuela, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif sent a letter to António Guterres to warn about the US move to send troops to the Caribbean to obstruct the fuel export.
Also Abbas Araghchi summoned Swiss ambassador as protector of US interests in Iran, urging him to convey Iran’s serious warning about any possible threats by the US against Iranian tankers.
Beyond the political-military sphere the two countries also pledged to work together academically in the commissioning of a new university program with a focus on teaching socialist principles and to promote discussion of “21st century socialism.”
The Russian Connection
Under President Hugo Chávez, Venezuela enjoyed warm relations with Russia. Much of this was through the sale of military equipment. In November 2008, both countries held a joint naval exercise in the Caribbean. Following Chavez’s two visits to Moscow in July and September 2008, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Igor Sechin arrived in Venezuela to pave the way for a third meeting within five months between their two presidents. This relationship flourished past the death of Chavez, and into recent times.
In February 2022, Russia launched an invasion of Ukraine. The invasion received widespread international condemnation; President Maduro of Venezuala , however expressed his “strong support” for Russia in a phone call with Putin and condemned the sanctions Western nations imposed on Russia. According to CNBC, Russia’s “most prominent” Latin American relationship is with Venezuela. Conversely, Venezuela’s primary geopolitical ally is Russia.
The Chinese Connection
From the outset of his presidency, Hugo Chávez sought to distance himself from the United States and court other allies that could help him find alternative sources of trade, diplomatic and military relations. During the first year of his presidency, he visited China and would accumulate the greatest number of visits to China out of any other Latin-American leader during the same period (1999-2012.
While giving a speech at Beijing University, Chávez is reported to have stated that “the Bolivarian Revolution is rooted in the ideology of Communist China’s founder, Mao Zedong”. During that same visit, Chávez also proclaimed that Simon Bolivar was a “soul mate of Mao Zedong”.
As in the case of Iran and Russia, the foundations of Venezuela and China’s relationship has also strengthened into recent times. In January 2019, the opposition-majority National Assembly declared that Maduro’s re-election was invalid and declared its president, Juan Guaidó, to be acting president of the Venezuela. The US, Canada, and most of Western Europe and Latin America (including Brazil, Colombia, Argentina) recognized Guaidó as interim president. However, China and Russia have continued to voice support for Maduro and have accused of the US of interfering in Venezuela’s domestic affairs amid the ongoing turmoil Iran has also condemned US threats.
Of the $150 billion the Chinese Development Bank loaned to Latin America in the past 12 years, a third went to Venezuela. There was public addressed speculation during the last presidential election in America that the voting process that saw Joe Biden take the presidency was somehow connected to both Venezuela and China. This point is raised as internal politics in the United States could well serve to reawaken such allegations should the present alliance between Venezuela, Iran, China and Russia also bring Biden’s government into the equation.
This situation comes hard on the heels of the Summit of Americas conference, which has alienated many neighbors of the USA. While, more evidence of anything resembling a clear and present threat against American interests so close to its border is helpful, there is no mistaking the serious nature of the composition and common areas of interest that exist between these nations. It may well prove useful to the United States of America to make its public more aware of this threat while it’s still manageable.
Where Does That Leaves Us Today
June 12, 2022 witnessed two seemingly separate events. The first was Argentina apparently confiscating an Iranian owned airplane connected with Venezuela. The second was the signing of a new pact between Iran and Venezuela. While the former event remain unclear, what does appear to be a feasible assumption is that American interests are once more being threatened by this alliance, and Argentine could well have been leant upon to send a message to Venezuela warning the country against getting too ambitious.
A Hindu bank manager from Rajasthan is shot dead in a suspected terror attack in Kulgam district, Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir.
This attack follows days after a school teacher was shot dead, also in Kulgam. The shooting may be linked with the Hizbul Mujahideen, a terrorist group that is outlawed in many countries, excepting Pakistan that subscribes to the groups aim of merging the region with Pakistan. There is a high probability that these attacks are also connected with a recent arms haul in the region by local police.
JTVC voices concern over the well being of India’s jewish community. Strong anti-Semitic slogans have been ranted by supporters of the militant Hizbul Mujahideen. While the threat mainly centers around the disputed Kashmir, deadly attacks by radical Islamic terrorists have happened elsewhere in India.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan cancels high-level talks with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, accusing Mitsotakis of consistently using Greek jets to violate Turkey’s airspace. Turkish Foreign Affairs Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu had also accused Greece of violating the airspace of demilitarized zones in the Aegean Sea yesterday.
The United Kingdom and the European Union agree to implement a ban on insuring Russian oil tankers, which will be phased in beginning in 6 months. This will effectively render the vast majority of oil tankers uninsurable as most institutions conducting insurance are located in Western Europe.
This move is regarded as a compromise between western nations that were dead logged in finding a mutually acceptable formula for hitting against Russian oil reserves without inflicting economic damage on their own interest. In effect, this means that Russian oil lines remain off the table as far as economic sanctions are concerned.
